A special Sunday storytime featuring live music and a new book about celebrating diversity and teamwork.

Join us as local mom and author Risa Lazaroff-Bhutta reads from her new book The Missing Piece: The Band That Came Together, a heartwarming story about friendship, music, perseverance, and discovering where you truly belong.

When a young musician begins an unforgettable journey through rhythm, melody, and teamwork, he learns that every instrument—and every person—has an important role to play. Filled with colorful illustrations and an uplifting message, this inspiring story encourages children to embrace their unique talents, believe in themselves, and celebrate the joy of making music together.

Risa will read her story, and local musician Matt Pacheco will join us as well to provide live music for our young listeners. We hope to see you!

Join us for our monthly nonfiction book club.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re feeling it, too: We’ve entered into a period some observers refer to as “hypernormalization,” a term coined to describe a society where norms and systems are breaking down, yet life carries on, per usual. How do we persist, in a world like this? Where do we put our anxious energy? How do we find purpose?

We’ll tackle these and other big questions in this new club, inviting experts into our meetings to enhance our understanding of the themes and issues we unpack. Our hope? To learn; to find hope in the darkness, in each other; to reject inertia and apathy; and learn new ways to make a difference.

Membership is rolling, and we’ll announce our reads each month, before we meet.

As with all of our clubs, we’ll top out at 15 members, so if you’re interested, please drop us a line to claim your spot and let us know if you need a copy of the book.
